What do the terrorists want?

If it is information these terrorists are after, they will not murder these scientists. The scientists have the information, why would they kill them? The terrorists are after something that they don't have and that can be provided. Money being given to the terrorists is not reasonable as this will only result in the terrorists gaining power of the UN.

The kidnapping of a couple of politicians or even tourists could bring the terrorists the $45 million they want. While the ransom could benefit them in their various endeavours, the DRC believes that it is merely a "red herring" to distract the DISEC committee from the real matter at hand, nuclear weapons.
