Please refrain from voting until some delegates have put up their reasoning's. Remember that you may cancel your vote.

France: We propose a system of donations, these scientists are a part of the IAEA, and they are important. We, as France, see no chance of peaceful talks.

The delegate of Somalia does not find that negotiations as plausible. As of the policy of many nations' policy is to not negotiate with terrorists"

Iran: NO NEGOTIATION!!! US SAID SO THEMSELVES. This is not the only terrorist organization out there. If we do negotiate, then other terrorist groups will do the same. We must take direct actions. No Negotiation.

Bhutan: Understand, fellow delegates, that there are two reasons that these two Scientists were abducted. Either, A) that they just want to show their own power, and just want money. Or B) They are in the process of creating nuclear weapons.

Realize that the creation of any Nuclear Weaponry requires time. In the even that the terrorists want a situation in B), then the demand for money is really a play for time and a justification of actions. In the even that we are in situation A), then understand that the $45m will allow the terrorist organization to buy even more mechanisms of war. More weapons = more chaos. So, two scientist's lives? Or the lives of millions. The Choice is yours. Also, is the video even real? Has that even been proven yet?

It is next to impossible to secure the hostages without the presence of armed forces, but sending armed forces may provoke the terrorists to kill the hostages. If the hostages are released first, we can send armed forces with no threat of losing a high-priority hostage.

Who is to say that they will release the Hostages? And in the even that they do receive the money, they will just disappear. No more trace. No armed forces, because understand that we do not know where the scientists are being kept yet.

is it 100% confirmed that this Afghanistan terrorist group has the 2 IAEA scientists ? and is it confirmed that it was a kidnapping and not the IAEA scientists themselves who have defected.

this is why we send negotiators. we can have the terrorists, say, meet in a designated place. That way, we can get there beforehand, and possibly provide air/ground support to ensure the safety of the hostages, and the non-safety of the terrorists. There is no harm in trying to negotiate, but there maybe harm in sending armed forces that may get the hostages killed.

These guys are terrorists for a reason. The UN should not negotiate with them as it will only further encourage terrorists activities. True, 45 mil may not be a lot, but what if they do the same thing again in the future asking for 100mil? 200? Where is the UN's limit on these ridiculous demands?
