It is a great shock to hear that Costa Rica and surrounding countries are currently experiencing a tuberculosis outbreak that is caused by XDRPPT, a newly evolved strain and currently the disease has resulted in an increasing number deaths for only a few days. China is deeply concerned with the well beings of citizens in those countries and would like to encourage a resolution paper to be passed immediately at WHO regarding to international response to this potentially widespread disease. The Ministry of Health of China had held a meeting overnight to discuss our response to this thread. At this moment of time, the Ministry of Health of China has set up medical teams that are ready to be sent to disease zones and China also wants to inform the world that we are willing to participate in research related to this disease. We’ll be sending supplies and financial aids if needed. China will try its best to prevent this disease from entering China as China is the most populous country, if the disease enters China, it will bring unpredictable results to the whole world population. As this being said, China strongly recommends its citizens not to travel to other countries at this period of time, as disease are found in the continental America and Europe and will stop all the airlines from going to Latin American regions within the next week. China will increase monitoring the visitors entering China from foreign countries and will isolate and report any suspect cases to WHO. China strongly suggests a further investigation of this disease from INTERPOL and believes that criminals must be punished as they are harming the innocents around the world. China will continually pay attention to updates regarding to this issue. Thank you!
