Modifying Space Treaties Empty Modifying Space Treaties

    Post by SPECPOL_Brazil Sat May 17, 2014 12:08 pm

Brazil is concerned about the current ineffective space treaties, especially since the need for a cohesive treaty is magnified by previous nations attempt to test missile in outer space, which resulted in the trapping of two astronauts.

    A) Brazil asks how can we create a stronger binding treaty that will ban the presence of weapons which may cause mass destruction on earth or in space?

Well seeing as SPECPOL does not have the power to force countries not to militarize, we can create incentives such as benefits from the space technology of other countries if they respect the non weaponization of space.

    B) This could be shared in the forum of the OOSA which will hold countries accountable by reviewing their outer space activities.

Brazil is still looking to redefine, the terms of weapons in peace treaties.
It should not only be nuclear arms, but also missiles and kinetic bombardment.
