    Solutions for Solving Legislative Corruption

Post by FIFA_Greece on Sat May 17, 2014 2:49 pm

Greece would like to gather solutions from other delegates that will help the Congress Combat Corruption.

It seems like the current viable options are:

    1. Anti-corruption third party. etc Interpol, IOC - International Olympics Committee
    2. Regular checks on the current officials and those who hold power in the Congress. etc Bank account checks
    3. Spread power from the president of the association to the Congress. More people = less biased.
    4. Harsher punishments enforced to display our intolerance for these acts.
    5. Elect a new president of FIFA every few years to reduce the likelihood of power abuse and the influence of them.
    6. Incentives for Whistle-Blowers to encourage them to send reports of biased acts. Also establish laws protecting the rights and safety of the whistle-blowers.

Greece is looking for opinions from other delegates on anything you would like to discuss.
Hopefully this topic gets resolved as soon as possible.

Greece wishes that all delegates enjoy the rest of the committee sessions!

We'll present our working paper shortly. I think Greece will be satisfied with the measures taken in 2.1.

Interpol would be a good asset for the internal investigation of Fifa organization legislative interference issues because of their excellent track record, ability to deal with organizations, and limits should be put on their ability to prosecute and investigate

Interpol is not the one handing down the punishment. That is up to FIFA. Interpol only serves as an investigation tool.

Yes I agree with France but I'm not so sure about the involvement of the IOC . They don't seem to have a real use

IOC can advise us in organizing world cups and mistakes me might make as they have successfully hosted many olympics and generally have a lot of experience.

I think the most strategic move for FIFA is to grasp onto as many alliances as we can.
